THE PETALOSO TEAM

  • ASHLEY ROSE STANOL: FLORAL DESIGNER

Hey Flower Friends! I am a lover of flowers, food, fur babies, and all things colorful & creative. Plain and simple: my favorite part about working with flowers is the joy that it brings people. I also love that there is always more to learn when it comes to flowering, whether it's discovering new floral variations, learning new ways to design, or meeting a flower I've never met before!

In addition to getting my hands dirty in the floral industry, I also take a weekly pottery class that fills my creative cup, play with my dog Guapo, and work as a professional photographer. I picked a garden rose for my floral portrait because, well... it IS my middle name!

  • AMY NEVILLE: STUDIO MANAGER

Hi! I am new to the floral industry and have really been enjoying the floral world. I love how everyday is different, challenging, and so incredibly beautiful! I enjoy pushing myself and discovering my creative side. We have such an amazing team at Petaloso, and I look forward to all of the beautiful work we will continue to create together. I came on as Studio Manager in January of 2022 and have loved learning and growing in the industry ever since.

I chose Chamomile as my flower as I find it hard not to smile when you see it and I love how bouncy and happy it is! The smell is so lovely as well!

  • RUBY GONZALES: FLORAL DESIGNER

    Hey! I'm Ruby Gonzales!

One of my favorite parts about the floral industry is the diversity in work that it brings-I couldn't bear to do the same thing every day with no variety. I also love how unique flowers are as a medium; no two blooms are ever the same, even if they're of the same variety, and it's so much fun finding a job for each special little flower. In addition, flowers brighten up my world so much I feel like I can't even have a bad day at work; they lift my spirits always.

I grew up in a flower shop and have been surrounded by flowers my whole life. I didn't think I'd end up being a florist, but a summer job with my parents opened a whole new world of a beautiful, fun career for me. I'm hooked!

The flowers I chose for my pictures are marigolds, or, cempasúchil as they're called in Mexico. Cempasúchil is a flower deeply ingrained in Mexican and indigenous American culture-their tradition endured colonizers' attempts to wipe out native culture and they remain a symbol of Mexico. My father is Mexican and I've been spending my whole life learning how to connect with our culture. You might recognize marigolds from Día de Los Muertos celebrations, but there's much more to them! Agriculturally, they keep bugs and deer away from crops, and they're very popular in Central Asian wedding styles in the form of long garlands.

Flowers are very important to me as a testament to nature's prioritization of beauty. For as long as humans have existed, throughout the world, we have been captivated by the beauty of flowers. Flowers, to me, feel like the sun shining inside, gently warming your face, and always bringing you a joyous smile.

  • ABBY BOSE: OFFICE MANAGER

Hi there! Prior to joining Petaloso, I had worked in countless roles within the wedding industry over the past 12+ years (think venue management, catering, planning, stationery, rentals). I was so excited to take on something new and learn all about the gorgeous world of wedding flowers!

One of my favorite things about working in florals is seeing the full vision come to life, and knowing how much prep went into it all in the months, weeks and days prior. I love starting an event day off with countless buckets of flowers, centerpieces, candles, and more, and then seeing the space slowly transform throughout the day into a beautiful, cohesive, and custom design.

When I'm not at the studio, I am likely camped out on my laptop at a coffee shop with a lavender latte, visiting a local restaurant or brewery with friends, especially if it's trivia or music bingo night, or at home with my husband, Jeremy, and our three fur babies.
